Project Overview
Digitalisation of the RIBI data management system
Penang Harmony Corporation (HARMONICO) is a state government agency overseeing non-Islamic religious affairs. With limited and scattered records of these affairs, the agency was looking to replace their existing manual, paper-based documentation.
In line with Penang’s 2030 vision of a “Smart, Green State”, HARMONICO sought VeecoTech’s expertise to launch eRibi, a centralised digital platform that systematically collects and manages data on non-Islamic houses of worship (RIBI) in Penang.

Challenges
When traditional documentation disrupts workflow
Previously, RIBI records and dana (funding) applications were maintained as paper-based. This made it hard to organise and update the data efficiently. Moreover, processing and verifying the information required significant manual effort from both the HARMONICO team and the Pengguna (users). Besides that, the government faced difficulties in reaching out to all RIBIs across various districts to ensure proper registration and participation.
To sum it up, the agency needed a solution that made data management easier, reduced manual workload, and simplified registration for RIBIs across Penang.
